Dr Rodney Westmore
MB BS DO FRACS FRANZCO FRCS (Edin)
Dr Westmore graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1965. He worked at St Vincent’s Hospital and trained in Ophthalmology at the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital.
Whilst in Melbourne Dr Westmore served as a Regimental Officer, 4th/19 Prince of Wale’s Light Horse Regiment.
Dr Westmore worked in the United Kingdom in 1974 and then commenced private practice in Launceston in 1975. He was appointed visiting specialist to the Launceston General Hospital in 1975.
Dr Westmore visits third world countries, he has been to Uganda three consecutive years and worked in East Timor in 2003.
Dr Westmore performs general ophthalmic surgery specialising in cataract removal and viscocanalolstomy (a new operation for glaucoma).
